My curiosity, what is the purpose of those 'addons' (not Acronis Plus Pack)? What's their use with TIH 2010?

Safe media allows you to make a safe mode Acronis loader Linux bootable media - it is described in the manual. Using the BartPE plug-in is also discussed in the manual and other places in the Knowledge Base (I don't have these at my disposal, sorry. I found several).

There are quite a few BartPE tutorials around (on this forum and on the web). Here is one example.

For the detailed information on how to create a bootable media please refer to the Chapter 15 of Acronis True Image Home 2010 User's Guide.
